Backtones/Walters/Rooster Crow and Friends

We have finished mixes on the Southern Backtones CD and I am exhausted and happy. It is the coolest music that I have ever had a hand in creating. You read that right. Not to take anything away from my other kids, but this child has fulfilled a lot of my personal dreams that may not have been appropriate the rest of my musical progeny.

So here I am.

Living through my kids (which is supposed to be supremely unhealthy, but the metaphor sort of works,....)

Jeff Lipton at Peerless Mastering in Boston is doing his job on the songs as I type, so look for new stuff in the Soundboard within the week.

Maggie Walters and I had two wonderful days in Studio A last week. We ended up using Tyson Sheth to put drums on one song, and it was lyrical magic. The thing that made the experience cool for me was the way that Maggie stepped up to the plate and started making some real production decisions. Woot. Way to go Maggie! That's not always easy, especially when I didn't see where she was going, but damn if it didn't all work out.

On another note, I have some good friends, who are not my clients, but make awesome music. Go to this show. I'll be there & it will be great!!!!!!
